In January a camp was held in Wellington and in February in Hout Bay, for peer educators and facilitators. The following churches were trained Ø St Joseph the worker, Macassar Ø Church of the Nativity, Blackheath Ø St Luke’s Eersteriver Ø St. George, Kuilsriver Ø St. Claire, Ocean View Ø Christ the Redeemer, Westridge Ø St. Anne’s, Maitland Ø Ø -St. Cyprians, Langa Ø -St. Mary Magdalene, Gugulethu Ø -St. Columba’s Gugulethu Ø -St. Georges, Silvertown Ø - Ø -St. Nicholas, Matroosfontein Ø -St. Faiths, Epping.
This was some of the feedback from the young people: these are the changes I woudl like to make in my life: · To stop following negative peer pressure; · To start being the change I want to see; · To stop smoking; · To not do drugs and sex; · To aim for small and so I can end up with my big goals!; · To recruit more youth; · Not to have sex before marriage; · To stop being weak, and stand up for myself; · To believe in myself; · To teach others about AIDS and that no matter what they did wrong there is always a solution and that God loves them ........
